Happy Meat Blues

This 27 minutes track is made with a Daxophone, a wooden resonance box with wooden tongue attached, played with a violin bow. It sounds like animals, famous for being extinct, invited in my studio singing a non verbal version of "We are the World". To eat animals is barbaric, but most people like the taste so much, they will refuse to see that eating a chicken is the same as eating your pet. For them affordable cultured meat, also called happy meat, could very well be the solution, to be able to eat meat without killing the animal without causing climate change the way animal farming does today. Meat cultivated by meat cells taken from the tissue of an animal, which multiply in a lab is available in the Netherlands since 2000, but consumption is still Forbidden by law. The meat industry could benefit, but instead gives in to fear of loss. Amazing how people, so rich they could feed the entire humanity, only care about making more money, more than about the survival of the species. Well, then invest in it and lobby for legalization, for god's sake. Till that happens, I feel Happy Meat Blues.
